Why Has the Eye Become Such a Powerful Symbol?

Few symbols have generated as much curiosity as the eye within a triangle.

During a recent Council educational session, members explored the history and changing interpretations of this enduring symbol.

The discussion examined how eyes, triangles and pyramidal forms have appeared in different artistic, philosophical and religious traditions throughout history. Participants also explored how symbols can acquire new meanings as they move between cultures and generations.
